One of the most valuable resources for improving and tailoring programs is the feedback and input from residents. If you have a Resident Council, this is a great first step to get monthly feedback on everything from what programs should be scheduled to what types of outings people would like to go on.
Another way to gather feedback is to conduct an Annual Resident Feedback Survey, designed to gather insights directly from your residents, to help shape the future of your recreation programs.
Resident feedback is invaluable in helping teams understand what programs, activities, and outings resonate most with your residents and where there may be opportunities for improvement. By participating in the survey, residents have the opportunity to share their thoughts, suggestions, and preferences, ensuring that your recreation programs continue to meet your residents' needs and interests.
Here are some ideas on what your Annual Resident Feedback Survey could cover!
Programs of Interest: Share your preferences for recreational programs and activities, including arts and crafts, fitness classes, educational seminars, social events, and more.
Preferred Activities: Let us know which programs you enjoy attending regularly and which ones you would like to see introduced or expanded in the future.
Feedback on Current Programs: Share your thoughts on the existing recreational programs, including what you enjoy about them and any suggestions for improvement or changes you would like to see.
Outings and Excursions: Tell us about your interest in outings and excursions to local attractions, parks, museums, restaurants, and other destinations. Let us know if there are specific places you would like to visit or activities you would like to participate in.
General Feedback: Provide any additional comments, suggestions, or feedback you have about our recreation programs, facilities, staff, other departments, or any other aspect of community life.
The most effective method for your community would most likely have paper copies delivered to each resident’s room or directly to loved ones if residents need some support to complete the survey. If you need to rely on loved ones for information a bit more or your community is tech savvy, something like a Google Form may be helpful, as it will put all of your responses it one place!
Make sure residents know that if they need any assistance or have any questions, to reach out to your recreation team!
Once all survey responses have been collected and analyzed, it’s important to share the results with the community, along with any action plans or initiatives based on your feedback. Transparency will let your residents know you’re taking their feedback seriously so they can feel seen, valued, and heard.
By giving your residents the opportunity to participate in an Annual Resident Feedback Survey, it will help your team to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences for everyone in your community.
